Our engineering values

1. Security is our first priority.

   No, really. We think local privacy laws aren't good enough, and we go above and beyond even though it doesn't benefit us directly. Security and privacy are never an afterthought, they're baked into everything we design.

2. Reliability is our number two.

   We monitor relentlessly. Our users should never be telling us about bugs — our quality controls and monitoring mean we should be catching them on our own.

3. Performance optimization is our number three.

   We all love fast apps.

4. We're building the machine that builds the machine.

   We build everything with extensibility in mind. A new feature request should slot right in, not make us dread a re-architecture.

5. We do not make each other read AI slop.

   Whether it's design docs, status updates, or code, our communication is human-to-human.

What we like

We preference engineers with a track record in scalability. If you've worked on anything with a decent user count, we're interested. We also love anyone with a health background, but neither are essential.

We are also looking for engineers who are happy to talk to users directly. We like to keep open lines of communication with our users.

We don't evaluate based on what languages or stacks you've used.

What you might like

Small teams, high ownership, and making a positive difference in the world. (It feels way better than working on an addiction engine for a consumer app).

You'll be joining a team of engineers who have brought their talents from Canva, Atlassian, Eucalyptus, and more.

What you might not like

Healthcare is kind of stuck in the past. We're trying to change that, but it does involve dealing with some pretty ancient systems, pretty often.

Location

Sydney-based, three days a week in-office. Remote considered for the right person.
